Sam Allardyce has offered an update on Everton’s pursuit of Turkey striker Cenk Tosun in Tuesday’s newspapers.

The Daily Star report the Blues have “done all they can” to secure the signature of the Besiktas forward.

However, the Daily Mail suggests there has been a hold-up after the Turkish side raised their asking price for Tosun.

Allardyce talks further January plans in the Daily Mirror, who believe Germany international winger Karim Demirbay is set to be the subject of a transfer “battle” between Everton and Arsenal.

And the Liverpool Echo includes the Blues boss hailing “shining light” James McCarthy, who featured in the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on New Years Day.
