Everton are linked to two January signings in today's newspapers.

The Mirror claims Blues boss Sam Allardyce wants to land Arsenal forward Theo Walcott - and is hoping to tie up a double deal by also winning the race for Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi, who he used to manage at Blackburn Rovers.

Meanwhile, The Guardian quotes Allardyce saying Wayne Rooney's future lies in a deeper role but the Everton manager believes England’s record goalscorer can prolong his career after helping his boyhood club move into the top half of the Premier League table.

The Liverpool Echo uses Oumar Niasse's If I feature from Everton's official matchday programme against Swansea, as the forward reveals former Brazil striker Ronaldo would be his ideal teammate, how he would introduce rolling substitutes if he could change one rule in football, he would like to have the talent of a racing driver, and would choose Nelson Mandela and religious leader Serin Tuubaa if he could meet anyone outside of football.
