Everton’s 3-1 success over Swansea City at Goodison Park on Monday night is put under the microscope in Tuesday’s newspapers.

Blues boss Sam Allardyce assesses his side’s fourth win in five games in both the Independent and the Daily Mail, while that latter also features Wayne Rooney insisting the deeper role he is currently occupying on the pitch suits him at this stage of his career.

The Daily Mirror, meanwhile, picks out the performance of Gylfi Sigurdsson, who netted a stunning second goal for the Toffees on the night.

Allardyce talks January transfer plans in the Daily Star, while in the Nottingham Post, Forest legend Kenny Burns hails the performances of on-loan Everton youngster Kieran Dowell.
