Everton are linked to a number of potential January reinforcements in Sunday’s newspapers.
The Daily Mail
suggests the Blues are closing in on a deal for Lille’s French defender Adama Soumaoro, while Patrick Van Aanholt, Jonny Evans, Baba Rahman and Philipp Max are also all said to be targets.
Christian Benteke is another potential addition according to the Daily Mirror
, who also believe Sam Allardyce is eager for a reunion with midfielder Steven Nzonzi whom he had at Blackburn Rovers. However, the Daily Star
claim the Blues boss will have to sacrifice one of his existing midfielders to land the Sevilla man.
Holland international Stefan De Vrij, of Italian side Lazio, rounds off the speculation, with the Liverpool Echo
implying the Toffees could look to sign a pre-contract agreement with the defender, who has six months left on his current deal.
The Echo also looks at what moves Allardyce has made in January while at his previous clubs, and reports on Under-23s skipper Morgan Feeney’s new contract.
Elsewhere, Dominic Calvert-Lewin features across local and national editions discussing his grounding in non-league, having spent time on loan in the lower divisions while at former club Northampton Town.
The young striker also says he will fight for his place at Everton if the Club do sign a new striker in the winter transfer window, but accepts he will have to raise his game.
