Everton take on Apollon Limassol on Thursday evening, looking to end their Europa League campaign on a high.
The Blues cannot progress from Group E but the match in Cyprus is a chance for players to catch the eye ahead of Sunday's Merseyside derby at Anfield.
Before the match in Nicosia, our friends at evertonresults.com provided plenty of European-themed facts and figures...
On This Day
We’ve had some memorable results on 7 December, not least back in 1992 when goals from Mo Johnston and Peter Beardsley sealed a come-from-behind derby victory against Liverpool at Goodison Park.
Fresh from last week's 4-0 success against West Ham, we also beat the Hammers by the same scoreline at home on 7 December 1991, when Johnston and Beardsley were on the scoresheet again, along with Tony Cottee and Peter Beagrie.
Our last away game on 7 December was a 2-2 draw at Chelsea in 1996 with Michael Branch nabbing his first Everton goal and Andrei Kanchelskis getting the other.
This will be our first European match on this date!
The Blues' clash against Apollon Limassol will be our 30th Europa League match in total and the Club's current record is W14 D5 L10 – F44 A41. In all European competitions this will be match number 91 for us and our full record at the moment is W46 D19 L25 – F145 A98.
Tim Howard has made the most European appearances for Everton with 28. He’s followed by Leighton Baines and Leon Osman on 25, Tony Hibbert on 24 and Phil Jagielka on 23.
A win against Limassol would be our third on the trot in all competitions. The last time that happened was when we won four in succession in July and August.
