What The Papers Say - 4 December

Monday’s papers continue to reflect on the 2-0 victory over Huddersfield Town that got Sam Allardyce’s reign at Goodison Park off to a winning start. 

Goalscorer Gylfi Sigurdsson reveals the half-time tactical switch that helped the Blues see off the Terriers in the Liverpool Echo, while Allardyce is quoted in the same paper and across the nationals saying he plans to add a sports psychologist to his back room team at USM Finch Farm. 

The Daily Mirror points to reports Olivier Giroud has been urged to quit Arsenal in January if he wants to go to the World Cup with France, with the Toffees rumoured to maintain an interest in the 31-year-old striker. 

Finally, Dominic Calvert-Lewin discusses the win over Huddersfield in the Mirror - and says Everton have found their footing at just the right time with the 229th Merseyside derby coming up at Anfield on Sunday.
