Merseyside Derby Awaits In FA Cup

Everton will take on Liverpool at Anfield in the FA Cup third round.

The Blues will meet the Reds between January 5 and January 7.

It will be the 24th meeting between the local rivals in the competition.

On the past two occasions the two sides have met in the FA Cup away from Wembley, the Toffees have been victorious after replays, with Dave Watson’s goal securing progression after 0-0 and 4-4 draws in February 1991 and Dan Gosling netting the all-important strike following a 1-1 draw in February 2009.

New boss Sam Allardyce, meanwhile, recorded a 2-1 victory over Jurgen Klopp’s side at Anfield in the Premier League while managing Crystal Palace last season.

An exact date and kick-off time will be announced on evertonfc.com in due course.
