Kevin Mirallas returns to Everton’s starting XI for today’s clash with Southampton, as boss David Unsworth makes two changes from the side which started last week’s Premier League draw at Crystal Palace.
Winger Mirallas comes in for Ademola Lookman, who drops to the bench, while the suspended Oumar Niasse is replaced at the tip of Everton’s attack by England Under-21 international Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The Toffees' back four, then, has a familiar ring to it, with skipper Phil Jagielka at the heart of defence alongside Michael Keane, and Jonjoe Kenny and Leighton Baines filling the full-back slots.
Mirallas joins Gylfi Sigurdsson and Aaron Lennon in an attacking triumvirate, deployed behind Calvert-Lewin.
Everton’s midfield will be anchored by Morgan Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gana Gueye, while Jordan Pickford maintains his top-flight ever-present record in goal.
Lookman is joined among the Toffees' substitutes by Nikola Vlasic, Ashley Williams, Sandro Ramirez, Wayne Rooney, Beni Baningime and goalkeeper Joel Robles.
