Tuesday’s Daily Mirror claims former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has emerged as a contender for the vacant Everton manager’s job after bookies cut odds on the Dutchman taking over at Goodison Park.

However, the same paper reports that Watford’s Portuguese head coach Marco Silva remains favourite to replace Ronald Koeman.

Elsewhere, the Liverpool Echo suggest Davy Klaassen, Sandro Ramirez and Nikola Vlasic could all be set for game time when Atalanta visit in the Europa League on Thursday, while pundit Jamie Carragher is quoted saying the Blues should be “bursting down the door” to appoint Burnley manager Sean Dyche.
