Stat Pack: Crystal Palace

Everton head to Crystal Palace on Saturday looking to build on a superb comeback victory against Watford prior to the international break.

The omens are good, with the Blues having not lost an away game at Crystal Palace since October 1994.

But what other pointers can we take from the stats?

Our friends at evertonresults.com have had a trawl through the numbers…

Lucky 18 November: We have never played Crystal Palace on 18 November but we did win on our last outing on that date - a 1-0 home victory over Bolton Wanderers in 2006. In total, we haven’t lost in any of our last seven 18 November matches, winning three and drawing four. Our last away trip on 18 November was a very memorable one - the 2-1 victory at Anfield in 1995 when Andrei Kanchelskis netted his first two goals for the Club!

Recent Meetings: Everton defeated Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park back in January, with Seamus Coleman grabbing the only goal three minutes from time (above). We're unbeaten in our last five meetings with the Eagles, with a record of W2 D3 L0. Our last defeat against them was a 3-2 Goodison Park reverse in September 2014 when Yannick Bolasie was among the scorers for the Eagles.

Selhurst Success:
Away from home we haven't lost to Palace since a 1-0 defeat in October 1994 and, since then, our record at their place is W4 D2 L0. Overall in the Premier League, our full record at Crystal Palace is W5 D2 L1 F10 A3. On a points-per-game basis, that makes them our favourite away Premier League opponents. We average 2.12 points per Premier League match in south London.

Mr. Reliable: If he plays, Saturday will be Leighton Baines’ 40th consecutive appearance for us in the Premier League. Everton players have only achieved that feat on 19 previous occasions. Tim Howard has the Club record having played 210 successive Premier League games between September 2007 to February 2013. Baines himself is already third on our list with a 99-match unbroken run in the Premier League from October 2009 to April 2012.

Familiar Foe: Crystal Palace will be the fifth different club Roy Hodgson has managed against us in all competitions. He's previously come up against the Blues as the boss of Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion. Ron Atkinson is the man to have been in the opposition dugout with the greatest number of teams - seven (Cambridge United, West Bromwich Albion, Manchester United, Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest).

Unfamiliar Kick Off: The match at Selhurst Park is our first Saturday 3pm kick-off since the goalless draw at West Ham United in April. In 3pm Saturday matches, home and away, our recent record is W8 D2 L1
