Rumours regarding Everton’s next manager continue to circulate in Wednesday’s newspapers.

The Independent claims the Blues are ready to double Marco Silva’s current wage at Watford to persuade him to Goodison Park.

The Daily Mail, meanwhile, speculates the Hornets have rejected a “second offer of £8.5million” for their Portuguese boss.

The Daily Star runs a story that first appeared on Italian site Calciomercato, which states Carlo Ancelotti would be open to a Premier League return.

Away from the managerial rumours, former Everton captain and current Nottingham Forest assistant David Weir believes loanee Kieran Dowell can become “the all-round midfielder”.

And finally, Crystal Palace’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s chances of facing Everton this weekend have been rated 50/50 after the midfielder picked up an injury while playing for England against Brazil on Tuesday night.
