What The Papers Say - 9 November

Everton coverage in today's papers is hogged by speculation over who will fill the vacant Goodison Park hotseat.

A number of publications report on David Unsworth being installed as the bookmakers' favourite for the post, with the Daily Mirror claiming Sam Allardyce would be reluctant to accept the role on a short-term basis.

The Mirror also claims Everton sounded out Carlo Ancelotti about the former Juventus and Real Madrid boss's interest in the job, with ex-Borussia Dortmund manager Thomas Tuchel and Marco Silva of Watford also mentioned as candidates.

The Liverpool Echo includes a comment piece on the type of personality Everton should be targeting to manage the Club, and features Allarcdyce calling the Toffees "a fantastic football club with huge history and tradition" – while also denying he has had contact with the Blues.

Elsewhere, there are plenty of column inches given over to the forthcoming round of international matches.

The Daily Mail reports on Tom Davies' withdrawal from the England Under-21 squad with a minor hamstring injury and says Michael Keane is battling to be fit in time for the Three Lions' Wembley clash with Germany on Friday night.
