What The Papers Say - 15 October

Everton midfielder Tom Davies features heavily in Sunday's newspapers.

The Daily Star quote Davies talking about the positive effect Wayne Rooney is exerting on his development, while the same paper report on teenager Davies saying Everton's players must take responsibility for the team's form so far this season.

Davies tells the Daily Telegraph how his emergence onto the Premier League scene last season led to him being recognised on the other side of the world during a family summer holiday.

Ronald Koeman backs Davy Klaassen to be a hit at Goodison Park, with the manager telling the Daily Mirror his fellow Dutchman should be granted some patience as he adjusts to Premier League football following his pre-season move from Ajax.

The Liverpool Echo, meanwhile, have more from Davies, with the teenager saying he welcomes the competition for places in Everton's team.

And the local paper has further reaction to the Toffees' Under-23s' victory over Manchester City on Friday, with boss David Unsworth reserving special praise for midfielder Beni Baningime.
