Today's newspapers start previewing Everton's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.

The Liverpool Echo report on James McCarthy's bid to be fit in time for the Toffees' trip to the Amex Stadium and feature some expert opinion on Chris Hughton's newly-promoted Albion team.

Former Everton captain Kevin Ratcliffe uses his Echo column to discuss Welsh compatriot Ashley Williams, Seamus Coleman and the scheduling of the Blues' game on the south coast.

Elsewhere, David Moyes is linked with the Scotland manager's job which became vacant with Gordon Strachan's exit from the post yesterday. Ex-Everton boss Moyes apparently heads a list of candidates including former Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert and Alex McLeish, who managed the Tartan Army 10 years ago.
