Five Everton players have been named in England’s Under-21 squad for European Championship qualifying matches against Scotland and Andorra next month.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin retains his place in Aidy Boothroyd’s party after marking his Under-21 debut by scoring in the young Lions’ opening qualifying game away in Holland earlier this month.
Tom Davies is included, having also recently won his first cap, in England’s 3-0 victory over Latvia – four days after the 1-1 draw in Holland.
Calvert-Lewin’s fellow World Cup winners Ademola Lookman and Jonjoe Kenny – who made his full Everton debut in last week’s Carabao Cup victory over Sunderland – have also been selected.
There is a place, too, for Kieran Dowell, currently on loan with Championship team Nottingham Forest and another member of the England Under-20 team that achieved global success back in June.
England Under-21s meet their Scottish counterparts at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium on Friday, 6 October, before an away game in Andorra on Tuesday, 10 October.
The countries are battling to reach the European Championship finals, which will be jointly hosted by Italy and San Marino in summer 2019.
England need to top their six-team group in order to ensure qualification, with play-off spots only available to the four best second-placed finishers across nine groups.
