Tait's Under-18s Set For Mini Derby

Welcome, Marco!

Everything you need to know about the new boss here.

Everton Under-18s coach Paul Tait says his players will need no extra motivation ahead of their Merseyside mini-derby on Friday evening.

The Blues will travel to Liverpool’s Kirkby Academy for a 7pm kick-off full of confidence after a run of three consecutive victories in all competitions.

And Tait has been pleased with attitude and commitment of his players in training ahead of the clash with Steven Gerrard’s side.

“The lads are in a great place,” Tait told evertonfc.com. “We’ve trained well this week and there is confidence because we’re on a decent little run. But it’s also a case of the old saying of, ‘don’t get too high, don’t get too low in football’.

“We won’t need to motivate them for a derby, that’s for sure. A lot of them have played in derbies before but this will be a first taste at Under-18 level for a lot of them, which is a little bit different to the schoolboy games.

“We’re all thoroughly looking forward to it.”
