Gylfi Sigurdsson will make his first Premier League start for Everton at Chelsea today, less than 72 hours after the Icelander’s wonder-goal in Split propelled the Blues into the Europa League group stages.

Summer signing Sandro Ramirez will join Club-record buy Sigurdsson in the team for Everton’s third game this week, after the Spaniard recovered from the heel injury that kept him out of the matches at Manchester City and Hajduk Split.

Idrissa Gana Gueye has overcome a minor hamstring problem to feature against the defending Premier League champions and will be partnered in the Blues’ engine room by Tom Davies – another who didn’t start the clashes with City and Split.

Boss Ronald Koeman has reverted to the three-man defence he employed at City’s Etihad Stadium on Monday night, with Michael Keane, Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka flanked by wing-backs Mason Holgate and Leighton Baines.

Wayne Rooney continues in attack for Everton, while the bench is made up of Mo Besic, Aaron Lennon, Ademola Lookman, Cuco Martina, Jonjoe Kenny and goalkeeper Maarten Stekelneburg.
