Morgan Schneiderlin features in Saturday's newspapers, where he insists Everton’s players can handle the pressure of raised expectations.

The Frenchman is quoted in the Liverpool Echo and the Guardian, giving his thoughts on the new season.

The Daily Mail, meanwhile, carries two stories around Wayne Rooney. The first sees Stoke City boss Mark Hughes claim the Blues striker could ‘trip himself up by trying too hard’ in Saturday’s game with the Potters.

The second sees the Mail claim England boss Gareth Southgate will attend the home leg of Everton’s Europa League play-off tie with Hajduk Split to watch Rooney.

Keeper Jordan Pickford also appears in the Mail, charting his rise from early days on loan at Alfreton Town from Sunderland to his summer move to Everton.

Finally, the Echo includes two stories featuring Ronald Koeman on his desire to sign a striker, and his belief the transfer window should close before the season starts.
