Former Everton striker Jô tells of his regret at squandering the opportunity he had at the Blues in Thursday’s newspapers.

The Brazilian frontman, now at Corinthians, features in the Daily Mail, explaining how ‘immaturity and a lack of focus’ cost him making a success of his two loan spells with the Toffees.

Elsewhere, the Daily Star suggests both Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in Ross Barkley, while Graeme Sharp tells the Daily Express that he believes Wayne Rooney can bring a trophy to Goodison Park.

Mason Holgate says he is developing the tools to be a Premier League full-back in the Liverpool Echo, and the Mail report on Seamus Coleman’s donation to the Sligo to Goodison charity fund.
