Ronald Koeman believes Jordan Pickford is already proving his worth for Everton.
Signed from Sunderland for a fee that could potentially rise to a Club-record-equalling £30million this summer, Pickford kept a clean sheet on his debut to help the Blues overcome MFK Ružomberok in the Europa League last week.
That was quickly followed up with a first Goodison Park outing against Sevilla on Sunday - and the 23-year-old made a string of impressive saves and caught the eye with some pinpoint distribution as the Toffees ended their pre-season schedule with a 2-2 draw.
“We paid that money for a goalkeeper because we believe in the young boy,” said Koeman. “He is only 23, but he’s really comfortable, a great kicker of the ball and I’m really happy to see him ready to play 90 minutes now in front of the fans.
“He did well last Thursday and he did well today. It’s a great signing for the Club.”
