Thursday’s Daily Mail reports on Everton’s 3-0 win over Twente and how the Blues “did not have to get out of second gear” to overcome their Dutch opponents.

In the Liverpool Echo’s analysis of the friendly, Cuco Martina receives praise for his second-half cameo on the right side of defence. The new signing made his first appearance for the Blues and he was described as looking “confident and comfortable” in a new team.

The Echo also covers the news that Ross Barkley and Ramiro Funes Mori have undergone surgery on groin and knee injuries respectively.

The Daily Mirror says Manchester United will “monitor” Barkley’s situation at Goodison Park.

Meanwhile, the Daily Express says reported Everton target Olivier Giroud is more likely to move to Borussia Dortmund this summer.

And in the Daily Star, the Toffees are claimed to be interested in signing Feyenoord “wonderkid” forward Joshua Zirkzee.
