An elated Dominic Calvert-Lewin struggled to sum up his emotions after firing England Under-20s to World Cup glory.
The Everton forward netted the all-important strike in the 35th-minute as the Young Lions defeated Venezuela 1-0 in Sunday’s final.
Three Blues teammates - Jonjoe Kenny, Kieran Dowell and Ademola Lookman - also impressed for the Young Lions, while Callum Connolly was an unused substitute in Suwon, South Korea.
“Words can’t describe how I’m feeling right now and how we’re all feeling,” said Calvert-Lewin before the trophy presentation. “We’re just trying to take it all in and lap up the celebrations.
“It means everything. You grow up dreaming of playing for your country and we’ve just won a world cup. I can’t put it into words how much it means.”
