Georgia Brougham cannot wait to test herself in WSL 1 after the news Everton Ladies have returned to the top flight.
, the FA Women’s Football Board selected the Blue Girls as the Club to take the WSL 1 slot vacated by Notts County.
Brougham, like the rest of the squad, was delighted at the news and cannot wait to kick off the new season in September.
"As a team, staff, club, we’re very delighted to be back into WSL 1,” she said. “We’ve shown in the Spring Series that we are ready to compete, and even in WSL 2, we have kept our high standards and professionalism throughout the Club. We feel we are back to where we belong.
“We know the hard work starts now. It’s been in the back of our minds whether we will be in WSL 1 or WSL 2, but we’ve always been training hard as if we’re going into WSL 1. That will carry on.
“Hopefully we will strengthen the squad here and there, but we know as a team that we will have to push hard. No game is going to be easy in WSL 1 but we are ready to take the challenge on.
“We will be going up to compete – we don’t want to be fighting relegation. We know what we have to do to fight in that league and we will be giving it all we have got.
“I’m looking forward to testing myself in WSL 1 against the best. I can’t wait to get started.”
