Everton Football Club has been nominated in five categories for the Stadium Events and Hospitality Awards 2017.
The awards the Club has been shortlisted for are: Media Choice, Chef Team of the Year, Directors Choice, Matchday Hospitality (Medium Stadium) and Overall Matchday Hospitality Award.
The ceremony, which will take place on Thursday 1 June, aims to recognise the efforts and dedication shown by the catering, conference and events teams at every football and rugby stadium across the UK – but what do these nominations mean?
The Media Choice Award category is voted for by visiting local and national media. This audience is voting for a warm welcome, friendly service and top-class food.
The Chef Team of the Year Award is judged as part of the live kitchen event at Hotelympia, NEC in Birmingham. Chefs teams had one hour to prepare, cook and present a three-course menu suitable for their Club Chairman to entertain the Head of the FA or RFU to dinner.
Sponsored by FC Business The Directors Choice Award category is voted for by Directors at each club. They are asked to nominate the club where they had the best away experience when travelling with their team. They are specifically asked to consider the welcome, service and catering when casting their votes.
Finally, the Matchday Hospitality Awards are reported by professional Salon Culinaire chef judges who experience hospitality at UK clubs this season using strict criteria.
Oliver Wright, Head of Hospitality and Sales at Everton, said: “Our stadium teams work tirelessly to make sure that every individual who visits Goodison Park has a memorable experience, no matter what brings them here.
“So, we’re delighted to see that we have been nominated for so many prestigious categories at the Stadium Events and Hospitality awards and it’s a credit to our staff’s dedication. We’d like to wish all nominees the best of luck on the night and we’re looking forward to what should be a very special occasion for sport stadiums across the country.”
The awards, sponsored by Carlsberg, will take place at Liverpool Football Club on Thursday 1 June 2017. Around 400 guests will experience a fine dining four course menu, awards ceremony, followed by an onsite after party until 4am.
