New Deal For Magill

@Everton

Striker Simone Magill has signed a new contract with Everton Ladies, tying her to the club until May 2018.

The Northern Ireland international has been in scintillating form this season, with seven goals to her name so far this season.

She has now put pen to paper on fresh terms and is now looking forward to playing her part in a bright future at Everton.

“It was an easy decision to commit to Everton,” insisted Magill. “There is a great squad here and the way the club is structured with the staff and the facilities is everything you want.

“We have started really well in the Spring Series and personally I have been getting on the scoresheet regularly. I have really found my feet in the team this year and I am really enjoying my football.”

Magill missed the majority of a 2016 campaign that saw the Blue Girls come agonisingly close to regaining a place in the top flight of women’s football in England. This time, she is keen to fire the goals that finally see Everton reach WSL 1.

“Last season was a bit of a weird one for me,” she added. “I missed most of it but to come back and play in the final game gave me a massive confidence boost. I took that into pre-season this year and thankfully things have gone well for me. Touch wood it continues that way.

“I definitely believe this could be the season we get back up to WSL 1. We have just missed out last season but this year there is a really good buzz about the place. There is great quality throughout the squad and real belief that this is the season that we can go on and get promoted.

“Our performances in the Spring Series have shown just how good we are and hopefully we can take that through into the season proper when it starts in September.”
