Kevin Mirallas believes Everton are making Goodison Park a fortress again after recording their fifth consecutive home win in the Premier League with a 3-0 triumph over West Brom.
On his 400th career appearance, Mirallas broke the deadlock six minutes before the half-time interval, slamming home a rebound after Ross Barkley’s shot was parried by Ben Foster.
Morgan Schneiderlin added a second in first half stoppage time, before Romelu Lukaku sealed the victory with a well-placed header eight minutes from the end.
The result sees the Blues reach 47 points, the same points tally amassed in each of the last two seasons, with 10 games remaining.
It was also the Toffees’ ninth home win of the season, three more than achieved in the whole of 2015/16 campaign.
“At the moment, we are on fire at Goodison,” said Mirallas. “It is very important because the fans are always behind us.
“I am very happy because we won and that is the most important thing.
“It was also nice to score because I feel like, normally, my goals come away from home!
“We’ve opened the gap from West Brom to seven points, which is good and now we need to follow it up with a win against Hull next week because after the international break we have two away games against Liverpool and Manchester United.”
