What The Papers Say - 30 January

Monday’s issue of the Liverpool Echo reports on Idrissa Gana Gueye’s return from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Senegal exited the tournament at the weekend and the Echo says the midfielder is likely to be rested for Everton’s trip to Stoke on Wednesday, with the home fixture against Bournemouth next Saturday a more likely match for his return to the Blues team.

Also in the Echo, Ronald Koeman once again praises Tom Davies’ impact since stepping up to the first-team.

The local read has also compiled a list of five forwards who Everton should consider before Tuesday evening’s transfer deadline.

Nationally, the Daily Mirror says Southampton are close to completing a move for Napoli forward Manolo Gabbiadini, who had been linked with a switch to Everton.
