Everton winger Aaron Lennon surprised some young Everton competition winners during a special day out at the Club's Finch Farm training ground.
Six junior supporters won the chance to star in their very own photoshoot at the state-of-the-art facility thanks to Club partner Fanatics after having photos posted of them on social media in the new away kit for the 2016/17 season.
Throughout the day the children not only had the chance to meet first-team duo Aaron Lennon and Arouna Kone but were also treated to a tour of Finch Farm by Club Ambassador Graham Stuart before enjoying lunch in the Academy canteen. The junior Blues then had the opportunity to model the three Everton kits for the current season as well as some of Fanatics' fashion range.
Emma Andrews, mum of Alfie and Penelope who took part in the photoshoot, said of the day: “What a wonderful day the children had! The day was excellently planned allowing the children to engage in a tour, meet some of the players and to participate in a photo shoot in a fun-filled environment.
“Alfie and Penelope will probably remember that day for many years to come. Thank you to Everton Football Club who involve their fans and community so much in what you do as a club. You truly are 'the peoples club'. No wonder my children love the club the way they they do. Blue through and through!”
Eight-year-old Henry was invited to the training ground after entering the Fanatics competition and after enjoying the experience of a lifetime, he said: “I had an amazing time at Finch Farm. I couldn’t believe I met Kone, Lennon and Besic – they were great! One day I hope to come back here as a player! Come on you Blues!”
The photos taken on the day will now be used across in-store graphics, on the Everton and Fanatics websites and on advertising boards around Goodison Park.
