World Champion boxer Tony Bellew joined Club Ambassador Ian Snodin on stage for a special Q&A at the latest Fans' Forum Presents event.
In front of 80 randomly selected fans in the People's Club Lounge at Goodison Park, Tony Bellew and Ian Snodin relived, from their very different perspectives, the build-up, the fight and the aftermath of the night the Wavertree boxer became WBC Cruiserweight Champion. The pair also shared their views on Everton's equal best start to a Premier League season, their hopes for the rest of the campaign and their favourite Everton moments.
As Bellew gave the gathered Blues an insight into his training and dieting regime and what goes into making the weight ahead of his title defence at the Echo Arena on 15 October, Club Ambassador Ian Snodin regaled fans with stories from his playing days for the Blues including team talks from Howard Kendall and why he never drank the tea at Wimbledon's Plough Lane.
The event, hosted by Darren Griffiths, was streamed to a worldwide audience on YouTube (link) and was the second Fans' Forum Presents event in the series following its successful launch in the Spring.
Nick Mernock, Chair of the Everton Fans' Forum, said "It was great to see and hear from Tony Bellew and Snods, who were both brilliant guests. We wanted to make sure we created an event that was intimate, informal and entertaining bringing fellow fans up close and personal with our guests."
The Fans' Forum Presents event rounded off a busy week for the Forum following last week's successful Do You Know You're History Pub Quiz.
"This was an event, like last week's Pub Quiz, put on by the fans for the fans and before we begin to plan our next event we want to hear thoughts and ideas from fellow Blues on the types of events they'd like to attend and who they'd like to see at the next Fans' Forum Presents", said Mernock.
