Callum Lees is the latest Under-18s player to report from the Dallas Cup. The central defender scored the opener against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday as the Young Blues ran out 3-1 winners to move into Friday’s semi-finals.

It’s been a brilliant day! We’ve made it into the semi-finals and as a team I think we have done really well.

We’ve deserved to make it this far and the effort has been outstanding, starting from the first game against Tigres. Even though we didn’t get the win on Sunday, we still played well.

Going into today, our preparation was spot on. Yesterday we rested well and when we got to the ground earlier we were all psyched up.

Right from the kick-off, we went straight for it. We took the game to Real Salt Lake and scored the opening goal, which I got.

It came from a corner and I managed to finish it. Playing in defence, I get told to push on and I’ve scored a few goals this season.

Then it was on to Broady - it was a brilliant finish from Nathan, right into the top corner.

Delial has been outstanding and he got the third. He has kept us going when we have played the ball up to him. He has dragged us up the pitch and his pace and power has got a couple of goals - he’s probably been the stand out player of the tournament so far.

Now we are all looking forward to the next match. Hopefully we can progress again and get through to the final.
