Fans' Forum Event Success

@Everton

Two Everton legends were the special guests at the inaugural Fans’ Forum Presents evening held at Goodison Park on Tuesday 15 March.

Joe Royle and Ian Snodin took to the stage to entertain more than 100 guests in the People’s Lounge, who also enjoyed cameo appearances from January Goal of the Month winner George Shaw and fundraising fan Speedo Mick.

First on stage was Club Ambassador Ian Snodin, with the Yorkshireman providing an insight into his role at the Club, his views on the season so far, the forthcoming FA Cup semi-final as well as regaling the audience with stories from his playing years including one about a warning from legendary goalkeeper Neville Southall about chipping him in training!

Next on stage was Everton Giant Joe Royle. The FA Cup-winning manager spoke passionately about his pride at playing and managing his boyhood Club as well as his current role as Professional Development Coordinator.

The evening also saw fans hear from nine-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer George Shaw on his shock at winning January’s Goal of the Month competition and what the Everton players said to him during their meeting when he collected the award at Finch Farm. George was joined by fundraiser Speedo Mick, who will be walking from Goodison to Wembley ahead of the Club’s FA Cup semi-final as he seeks to add to the £27,000 he has raised so far for the Woodlands Hospice charity.

With a number of raffle prizes on offer, including a signed ball, a case of Chang and a Legends Stadium Tour, a total of £272 was raised for Everton in the Community.

The evening kicked-off a series of exclusive events to be hosted by the Fans’ Forum in 2016.  The Fans’ Forum Presents evenings will see Forum members joined by a Club legend, current player, member of the coaching staff or a famous Blue as they recall they best blue memories and discuss all things Everton.
