Ladies Beat Forest To Progress

Deulofeu: I Was Watching Last Season

Captain Michelle Hinnigan’s double and strikes from Kelly Jones, Claudia Walker and Emily Hollinshead ensured Everton Ladies beat Nottingham Forest 5-0 to comfortably progress into the FA Women’s Cup fifth round.

The Blue Girls dominated the first half but had to wait until the 40th minute for the breakthrough against a resolute Forest side.

Walker crossed from the right-hand side and Kelly Jones slotted the ball home at the near post to put hosts in front at the Select Security Stadium.

Walker grabbed Everton’s second moments later - the forward shot from distance and Forest goalkeeper Vanessa Kinnerley spilled the ball into the net.

Andy Spence's side were in full control as the contest moved into the second half - and Hinnigan’s free-kick from just outside the box, which squeezed into the bottom corner, made the game safe for Everton on 50 minutes.

The 25-year old then added her second and Everton’s fourth with a low shot as the hosts continue to dominate the tie.

Jenna Dear, on her debut, and Dan Turner went close before substitute Hollinshead did eventually get the fifth goal, finishing coolly into the corner after a brilliant through ball from Kelly Jones.
