Man of the Match Bryan Oviedo hopes Saturday's third round win over Dagenham and Redbridge is just the first step on the road to Everton lifting the FA Cup at Wembley in May.
The fit-again Costa Rica international returned to the side for the first time since early November, playing in the unfamiliar role of right-back.
However, the 25-year-old impressed, setting up Arouna Kone's opening goal as the Blues booked their place in round four with a professional 2-0 victory.
And a delighted Oviedo is now aiming to land the trophy for what would be the sixth time in the Club's history.
He told evertontv: "Sometimes these types of games can be difficult and we need to make sure we are at our best to win. We now need to continue and try to win this cup, because winning a trophy is very important to us.
"We're confident. All the time when you win games it gives you confidence and we need to continue now and be better in every game."
Despite his long lay-off, Oviedo says he felt no ill-effects against the League Two Daggers and is now targeting more run outs in the coming weeks.
"I need a few more games to get better but I feel really good and I am so happy," he added. "There are two very difficult games coming up and we need to be very clear in what we're doing and do the maximum for this month because it's also very important for us to get into the Capital One Cup final and also get closer to the top of the Premier League."
