Fourth Minute Applause For Howard

All four sides of Goodison Park stood and applauded after four minutes of Sunday's game against Sunderland to remember Howard Kendall.

The Everton Giant was laid to rest on Thursday after an emotional funeral service in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral.

Fans suggested the mark of respect take place when the match clock ticks over to four minutes, inspired by the number he wore as an Everton player in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

An image of Howard appeared on Goodison Park’s big screens during the period of applause.
