Francisco Junior has extended his loan spell with Wigan Athletic.
The 23-year-old midfielder, who initially joined the Latics on an initial one-month contract, will now stay with the League One outfit until 16 January.
Junior has started all three of Wigan’s league games so far this term, including the club’s first league victory of the season - a 3-0 win over Scunthorpe United - last time out.
Speaking after sealing the extension, manager Gary Caldwell said: “Cisco has been a revelation since he’s arrived. When we found out there was a possibility of extending the loan, it was something I was very keen to get sorted.
“He gives us something different in the middle of the park and complements very well the other players we have in that department. His attitude has been spot on and he has blended very well into the group.”
Everton Under-21 defender Jonjoe Kenny, who has also started all three league games, also remains on loan at the DW Stadium after penning a two-month loan move last month.
