An Everton Fans’ Forum project has seen new signage and artwork introduced around Goodison Park – and members of the Forum recently had the chance to see the fruits of their labour in person.
Some of the Blues’ most iconic figures have been embossed onto the walls around Goodison Park with quotes attributed to several Everton greats also situated around the ground.
The likes of Alan Ball, Duncan Ferguson and Tim Cahill all now feature on the walls inside the Grand Old Lady, and the Fans’ Forum were given a special tour to see the project they have driven come to fruition.
After seeing the artwork, Chairman of the Fans’ Forum Nick Mernock said: “It was great to see it. There was some fair comment within the fanbase that Goodison was looking a little worn which was something we wanted to pick up.
“We wanted to re-energise the stadium and we felt the way to do that was playing on the Club’s history and causing a bit of discussion by adding some of the players, quotes and songs associated with Everton.
“These are the fruits of phase one, and there should be further phases coming shortly as we work with our fans to find other ways to make Goodison a venue people enjoy coming to.
“Taking things forward, we want to build on what we have got after getting feedback from those Evertonians who come to the ground in the coming weeks. We would encourage anyone to have their say on what they think of the new branding and they can do that by emailing myself at firstname.lastname@example.org.”
