Martinez Goes With Youth

Everton’s youngsters have another chance to impress at senior level against Leeds United.

Roberto Martinez has named no less then six Academy graduates in his starting line-up at Elland Road, with a further four on the bench.

The Blues boss has spoken of giving as many of his squad a full 90 minutes as possible over the weekend double-header and as such, James McCarthy, Steven Naismith and Arouna Kone all start.

Bryan Oviedo is also named in the starting XI as he looks to accrue further minutes after returning from injury.

There are first senior starts for Kieran Dowell, Gethin Jones, Matthew Pennington and Antonee Robinson, with the latter two only making their first-team debuts on Tuesday against Dundee.

Joel Robles is picked in goal, with Jones, Robinson, Pennington and Tyias Browming in defence.

McCarthy and former Leeds United loanee Ross Barkley hold in midfield, with Oviedo, Naismith and Dowell in the attacking roles, with Kone leading the line.

On the bench, Liam Walsh could make his first team debut, and Jindrich Stanek, Ryan Ledson, Conor Grant, Leon Osman, Tom Cleverley, Conor McAleny and Kevin Mirallas join him among the substitutes.
