Long Signs For Burnley

Chris Long has completed a permanent transfer to Championship side Burnley for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old striker, who made his first-team bow in the Europa League clash with FC Krasnodar in December 2014, has signed a three-year deal with the Clarets, with the option for a further year.

Academy graduate Long scored one goal in four appearances during a loan spell for MK Dons during the second half of the 2013/14 season, and netted for Everton’s first team against Paderborn last summer.

He subsequently secured a loan switch to Brentford in January 2015, netting four goals in 11 appearances for the play-off chasing Londoners.

Blues boss Roberto Martinez said: "We wish him all the best. Chris is a young, bright player, a goalscorer and a true Evertonian. We wish him well and hope it is going to be a successful move for him."

Long said: "I can’t thank Everton enough for what they did for me, but I think it’s time to start a new chapter in my life and I can’t wait to get started with Burnley."
