Everton boss Roberto Martinez has challenged the youngsters within his group to follow the example of Kieran Dowell and earn playing time against Dundee on Tuesday.
The young attacking midfielder made a late cameo in the 3-1 win over Hearts on Sunday, replacing Kevin Mirallas with eight minutes remaining.
And with the likes of Matthew Pennington and Ryan Ledson also among the touring party, Martinez has hinted there are further opportunities up for grabs at Dens Park.
“The young players have been very impressive,” said the Blues boss. “What is clear is that these players need to earn an opportunity in the first team. The young players that we have got here with us have done just that.
“From that point on you need to impress to get time on the pitch. Kieran Dowell has done that and we have a few other youngsters that have shown that they can bring something into the team.
“So, I am looking forward to seeing any young faces around the team but, if we do see them, it will be because they have earned the opportunity of being on that pitch.”
Fans can watch the Blues take on Scottish Premier League side Dundee on Tuesday for just £3.99
