Jordan Thorniley has penned his first professional deal with Everton.
The Under-18s skipper has progressed through the Academy and follows teammate Delial Brewster in signing a pro deal.
Thorniley has signed a one-year contract with the Toffees.
A central defender, he captained the Under-18s last season as the young Blues came agonisingly close to retaining their national title.
Having travelled with the Under-21s squad to Austria recently, he is now targeting making the breakthrough into David Unsworth’s plans.
“I’m made up,” he said. “I’ve had a two-year scholarship and this has been the goal. I have been at Everton since I was about 10 and I have always been working towards this.
“I want to now start playing regularly for the Under-21s or if not for them, then maybe going out on loan into either non-league or the Football League.
“I like working with Unsy because he has played in a similar position to me so he can help me become the best player I can be.”
