Spence Steps Down As Ladies Manager

Andy Spence is to step down from his role as Everton Ladies manager.

Spence, who had been assistant manager of the Ladies team from 2004 prior to his appointment as manager in 2012, will continue in a coaching role as Technical Director of the Girls Centre of Excellence.

Andy said: “Reaching this decision has been incredibly difficult given my 11-year association with Everton Ladies but, ultimately, is driven by my desire to see the Club be successful.

“I have been fortunate to have worked with many fantastic players and staff who have helped create some amazing moments that I will always be very proud to say I was a part of – the various Cup runs and victories, playing in Europe, and seeing so many of the young players develop.

“The current group of players have a great deal of talent and potential. I would like to thank them for all their efforts so far this season and wish them and my successor the very best for the rest of the season.”

Nicola Anderson, currently a coach of the Ladies team, will take interim charge until a permanent replacement is found.
