In Thursday's edition of the Liverpool Echo, Roberto Martinez backs Gareth Southgate's decision to omit Ross Barkley from his England Under-21 squad for this summer's European Championships.

Everton duo John Stones and Luke Garbutt, however, have been included in Southgate's preliminary group for next month's tournament.

In the same publication, Brendan Galloway has praised Under-21 coach David Unsworth, who offered the youngster some key advice ahead of his senior debut in the 2-1 win over West Ham last weekend.

Finally, the Daily Mail provide a summary of the Club's 10th Annual End of Season Awards as Phil Jagielka scooped a Player of the Year, Players' Player of the Year and Goal of the Year hat-trick.
