Oviedo To Return For U21s

Bryan Oviedo is set to step up his return from a hamstring injury by playing in Thursday’s mini-derby at Goodison.

The Costa Rican hasn’t been seen in a Blue shirt since picking up the injury in Everton’s 4-1 win away to Young Boys in February.

But he has retuned to fitness in recent weeks and is now ready to play a part for the Club’s Under-21s in what has traditionally been a highly competitive fixture.

Roberto Martinez revealed Oviedo’s return on Tuesday when asked about the latest injury situation.

"We didn't pick up any injuries at the weekend so we should have the same squad for Villa,” said the manager.

“We'll monitor Steven Pienaar, and Bryan Oviedo will hopefully play some part for the Under-21s on Thursday. So apart from Darron Gibson, we will have everyone back before the end of the season."

Kick-off for Thursday's game at Goodison is 7pm, with on-the-door admission free for Season Ticket holders and FOREVERTON members and £5 for adults and £3 for concessions otherwise.
