Loan Round-Up - 23 March

It was a disappointing weekend for the five Everton youngsters currently out on loan.

Matthew Pennington played 90 minutes for Coventry City, but could not prevent the Sky Blues from slipping to a 3-1 home defeat against Doncaster Rovers.

Dominic Samuel's strike inside five minutes got the hosts off to the perfect start, but three second-half goals would eventually earn the travelling Vikings all three points at the Ricoh Arena.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Chris Long was an unused substitute as Brentford battled back from two behind to notch twice in the closing five minutes and snatch a 2-2 draw against Millwall.

Conor McAleny, meanwhile, was again unavailable for Cardiff City as the Bluebirds overcame Birmingham City 2-0 at home.

In League One, John Lundstram, who joined Scunthorpe United on a 28-day loan last Thursday went straight into the Iron's squad for the trip to Rochdale.

The 21-year-old midfielder, however, was not called upon from the bench by Mark Robins as the Scunthorpe fell to a 3-1 defeat away to the promotion hopefuls at the Spotland Stadium.

Finally, north of the border in the Scottish Premier League, Conor Grant was also an unused substitute as Motherwell thumped Hamilton Academical 4-0 at home to move four points clear of the relegation zone.
