Under-21s To Take On Man United Tonight

by Mike Taylor @Everton

Everton could move to the summit of the Barclays Under-21 Premier League with a win over Manchester United at Leigh Sports Village this evening.

The young Blues currently sit in fourth place, having played a game less than Chelsea and Manchester United and two games less than Southampton – the three teams who occupy the places above them.

David Unsworth’s side will be looking to bounce back from last week’s 2-1 reverse against Villarreal in the Premier League International Cup at Goodison Park when they take on Warren Joyce’s men.

But the Toffees’ league form has been impressive, losing just one of their last five outings, to leave them well placed in the league standings.

Indeed, last time out in the league, goals from David Henen, Jonjoe Kenny and Brendan Galloway earned the young Blues a convincing 3-1 victory over Southampton.
