Trio In England Squad

Defenders Phil Jagielka, Leighton Baines and John Stones have been named in the England squad for the upcoming friendly against Norway and Euro 2016 qualifier against Switzerland.

The Everton trio are part of Roy Hodgson’s 22-man group – the first that the Three Lions boss has announced since this summer’s World Cup.

Ross Barkley is absent from the squad as he continues to recover from a knee injury.

England play Norway in a friendly at Wembley on Wednesday 3 September before travelling to Basel to face Switzerland in their opening Euro 2016 qualifying Group E fixture on Monday 8 September.

Elsewhere, left-back Luke Garbutt has been included in the England Under-21s squad for the Euro 2015 qualifiers against Lithuania and Moldova.

Forward Chris Long is part of the England Under-20s squad that will play Romania in a friendly and new signing Brendan Galloway is in the Under-19 squad for their match against Germany.

Fresh from leading England Under-17s to European glory, Ryan Ledson and Jonjoe Kenny make the step up to the Under-18s squad alongside fellow Blue Callum Connolly for next month's friendly against the Netherlands.

And three Everton youngsters featured for England Under-17s on Wednesday evening.

Tom Davies, James Yates and Nathan Holland all played a part in the 1-1 draw against the Czech Republic in the FA International Tournament, with the latter providing the assist for the Young Lions.
