Phil Jagielka has told Thursday’s Liverpool Echo that Everton will be ready for the Premier League opener at Leicester City.
Jagielka was speaking to the paper following the Blues’ 3-1 friendly defeat to Celta Vigo - a game the England defender sat out due to a minor knee problem sustained against FC Porto.
The Echo’s match report from Wednesday’s match at Prenton Park says that Aiden McGeady’s opening goal against the Spaniards was ‘easy on the eye’ but Everton looked ‘undercooked’ against the La Liga side.
The Echo also reports that Kevin Mirallas has now returned to training from his summer break and that John Lundstram has joined Blackpool on a season long loan deal.
Lundstram’s move to the Seasiders is also covered in the Daily Mail.
