Both the local and national newspapers continue to assess what Everton still require in the summer transfer window.

The Liverpool Echo runs a story on what potential loan target Christian Atsu, Chelsea’s Ghana international winger, could bring to the Blues should he be the next through the door.

The Daily Mirror also suggests that the World Cup star could be on his way to Goodison Park and that a deal has been agreed in principle.

Meanwhile, the Independent and the Times both suggest that wingers and strikers are top of Roberto Martinez’s wish list.

Away from transfer speculation, in the Daily Mirror Gerard Deulofeu has tipped the Everton boss as a future Barcelona manager after the former Wigan and Swansea chief impressed his young countryman while he was on loan at the Blues.
And finally, ahead of his testimonial, the Echo label Leon Osman the ‘ultimate professional’ as build-up to his game against FC Porto continues.
