Roberto Martinez has confirmed his interest in signing Anderlecht youngster David Henen and says discussions over a move for the forward are ongoing.
The Blues boss was asked about media reports linking Everton with the 18-year-old following his side's 2-2 draw at Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday night and admitted he is attempting to bring the player to Goodison Park.
Henen spent last season on loan at Monaco B and has scored two goals in three games for his country's Under-18s.
Should a deal for the youngster be completed, it is expected he would link up with the Club's Under-21 squad.
Martinez said: "He's a young, talented footballer who represents Belgium in the lower teams, in the Under-18s and has had good experience in going to France.
"He is a bright boy and we feel he is something different that we haven't got in the Under-21s, so we are hoping he is going to be giving us something different in that group.
"We want a strong group. We have already got talented and very interesting footballers and I think David can fit in really well in that environment."
