Blues legends Joe Royle, Kevin Sheedy and Ian Snodin met scores of Evertonians at the launch of the Club’s 2014/15 home kit on Thursday evening.
The trio greeted supporters, signed merchandise and posed for photographs at the newly-refurbished Everton One, before taking time to admire the new royal blue jersey.
It was Snodin’s second appearance of the day at the store after he had earlier cut the ribbon to signal its re-opening at 9am in the morning.
The former Everton midfielder said: “The kit looks really smart and I’m sure we’ll see plenty of fans wearing it at Goodison Park next season.
“Talking to the supporters who were here buying the kit, they are all feeling really positive for the new season. They are ready for the big kick-off.”
The new shirt, which is the first offering from Umbro since they signed a five-year technical partnership with the Club, has proven popular since its reveal with pre-order sales up by over 150 per cent compared to last year.
Inspired by the kit worn by the Everton team of 1924 – the year that Umbro was founded and the year Everton won the Barcelona Cup in Spain – the new strip boasts a royal blue shirt, white shorts and navy socks.
Roberto Martinez’s men will wear the kit for the first time against Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday 22 July.
To give fans more time to get their hands on the new jersey, Everton One will remain open until the later time of 6pm on Friday 18 July and Saturday 19 July.
The shirt can also be ordered online by clicking here.
Pre-sales and first day sales of the new Everton home kit for 2014/15 have been very strong and are one of the best in recent years.
This has led to some stock availability issues but we have been assured by our retail partner these will be resolved next week. Further information regarding stock availability will be available on both evertonfc.com and evertondirect.com on Monday 21 July.
